Varsity sits at 3-1-1 and is unbeaten in their last 4 games after a very close 1-0 opening loss to Seton Hall Prep (outscoring opponents 15-4 over the season so far). They are currently leading their division (2nd toughest in Essex County) and have a chance to win the division with victories next week over Millburn and East Side. Senior Flynn Dannheisser leads the team in scoring with 5 goals, with junior Marc Dyvens Phillipe and sophomore Cooper Schwartz each with 2. 6 other players have scored in a well balanced attack (seniors Ethan Anchia, Mason Beaupierre, Zane Merriweather, Yuta Goldberg and Zev Podgursky and junior Adam Curtis). Cooper Schwartz leads the team with 4 assists, with Yuta Golderg and junior Nathaniel Goldberg both having 2 assists (seniors Lucca Bruno, Flynn Dannheisser, Zane Merriweather and junior Marc Dyvens Philippe also have an assist each). Sophomore goalie Mattias Calderon Chubb has been a standout with 26 saves over 5 games with shutouts in his last 2 games. Senior Jasper Harris has played in parts of 2 games and also kept a clean sheet in both. The backline of seniors Yuta Goldberg, Lucca Bruno, Kaly Rochette, juniors Cooper Ferguson and Nate Boatfield Bell and sophomore Nate Jagger have all contributed to only allowing 4 goals in 5 games.

JV is 5-1, with their only loss coming yesterday at St. Benedicts. They started off with an impressive 3-1 win over Seton Hall Prep. The team has outscored their opponents 26-5. Leading goal scorers are juniors Sean Navan (7), Biel Sacks (5), Christ Alcin (3) and sophomores Idan Saadia (6), Jeffrey Carvajal (3) and Noah Fryatt (2). Others with goals are Murphy Walsman, Cecil Uhl, Milan Pandya and Miles Olaine. Rotating goalies Aiden Abin, Jacob Case and Luke Levy are responsible for the stout goals allowed total.

Freshman is 2-3 with wins over Livingston and Montclair. Diego Zambrano leads the team with 3 goals. 

Annual Dues: $150

Thanks to all who have paid so far. For those how haven’t yet, we encourage you to do so as the funds help with various program activities, like the Veo camera and end of the year banquet, among other things. We would like to collect $150 for each player on the team (reduced from last year). The amount asked for is calculated to meet the needs of the season, but if you want to increase the amount, even in a small way, that is most welcome. Any donation you make above the dues will be tax deductible and will help pay for team extras and for families who cannot afford the dues. We are an officially recognized 501(c)(3) organization. A tax receipt for the donation amount will be emailed to you. As always, if this amount causes a hardship to your family, disregard this email or any reminders as you do not need to pay. All boys have access to all program opportunities and benefits regardless of ability to pay.

The Boosters are parent volunteers working to support the Boys Soccer program at CHS. We encourage you to follow the boosters on Facebook and subscribe to our email list.  We are always looking for new members!  If you are interested in joining, please let us know (especially parents of freshmen and/or sophomores). As mentioned below, we could use day of help from parents of non-seniors for Senior Night (October 7) and End of Year Celebration (date TBD).

Please hold Wednesday, October 7^th for Senior Night. It’s a great tradition honoring our seniors and their families and we encourage all players and their families to come support! We’ll send out more details as we get closer. We are working to ensure there’s no conflict with a JV or Freshman game during the ceremony and the game. Thanks to Felipe Calderon, Tracy Boatfield-Bell and Anju Rajashekar for organizing the night! They could use some assistance for light tasks the day of the event so if you’re able to help, please reach out.

Schedules are available on Arbiter Live. The arbiter site should generally be accurate but since changes are made by an assignor, there may be a delay in posting changes. Refer to TeamSnap for real time updates by the Coaches. We are aware of the scheduling challenges and have addressed the lack of games and TeamSnap updates with the administration and coaches.

We are trying to organize canning in town for next Saturday, September 26. Please be on the lookout for a future communication.
