Ben Niles has volunteered to put together a video for the end-of-season soccer banquet, so he’s looking for photos and videos from the season. Please upload your images and videos to this Google Drive folder, and remember to look for opportunities to capture moments throughout the season.
Our end-of-season banquet is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 30. Be on the lookout for an invite with more details.
Thanks to our new Veo system, we have videos of every varsity game from the 2022-23 season. Hit the links below to watch. Stay tuned for livestream information.
Please see the links below to pay Booster dues, buy CHS soccer merch, get your tickets for the Red Bulls game, and sign up for a non-senior photo session.
Soccer tryouts begin on Monday, Aug. 22. Your player should be sure to join the Google Classroom, which is the primary means of communications from the coaches. The code is uvzt6gw.
Teams will be announced Thursday night via email to the students’ SOMSD accounts, and there will be a parent orientation meeting on Friday night at 6:45 in the school gym.

Two skill-development programs are available this summer for Columbia High School boys soccer players.
This program will run daily from Aug. 8-11, 8:30am-12:30pm at Meadowland Park.
Ball mastery, speed and agility, and positional training sessions with Sammy Adjei, an NCAA head coach and former professional soccer player. This program will run from July 11 to Aug. 11, twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:15-6:30pm.
Two important notes. First, we don’t want anyone to miss out because of economic hardship. The Boosters will offer financial assistance to those in need. Second, these programs are purely optional and do not impact a player’s chance of making a team.
Thank you,
CHS Boys Booster Committee
Hello 8th Grade Families,
My name is Coach Muirhead and I wanted to reach out to all of you in regards to your sons’ participation in the high school soccer program at Columbia High School. I’ve had a few parents already email me regarding tryouts/vacation/etc… so I figured it was best to put together this correspondence.
Tryouts for this fall will begin on Monday August 22nd. Tryouts typically last four days, although this does vary depending on the number of players that come out for the team. Two years ago we had 110 players tryout and we ended up going 5 days to make sure we got a good look at everyone. Last year the number was 87 players and we ended up making our decisions in 4 days.
I will detail more “tryout prep” below – once tryouts are completed we immediately roll into our preseason which takes us right up to our first game on Friday 9/9/22.
This video, featuring highlights from the varsity, JV and freshman teams, was produced for the CHS soccer end-of-season banquet.
“The Columbia High School Boys Soccer team entered their 2021 season ripped by the tragic loss of teammate Moussa Fofana, but the team honored Fofana’s memory by lifting their game to new heights.
Led by head coach Ryan Muirhead, the team finished with an 11-7 record, including winning the Super Essex Conference–Liberty Division championship with a 6-1 division record. As a result, the Cougars will be promoted to the SEC–American Division for next season — the top division in the conference — marking the second year in a row that CHS has been promoted within the conference…”
